Rhatany’s (Krameria Triandra) habitat is primarily Peru and Bolivia. However, various species are known to be found in the desert southwest of the United States.

An active astringent and slightly tonic, Krameria Triandra has been employed as an astringent wash for the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, gums, etc.

Rhatany root preparations and powder are often found in herbal toothpaste and powders, which are used to treat bleeding gums, remove tartar, and preserve teeth.

Krameria Triandra Root Extract is a light to medium red liquid with a characteristic odor. Rhatany extract is used in astringents, toners, fresheners, lotions, moisturizers, creams, and skin-enhancing products. It can also be added to shampoos, conditioners, and bath care products.
