Wasabia Japonica Root Extract is a water extract of horse radish. It is a super antioxidant, as it induces protective phase II detoxification enzymes.

Wasabia Japonica Root Extract also has antimicrobial properties. Antioxidants work by direct reaction with skin-damaging oxidants and free radicals. They are used up during their protective action and need to be reapplied often. Super antioxidants induce phase II protective enzymes; even after the super antioxidants are gone, the protective effects last for days.

Wasabia Japonica Root Extract contains 300-500 ppm of total ITCs, which are active against E. coli and Staph. Aureus, Pseudomonas strains, and Bacillus strains at 100-200 ppm concentration levels. ITCs are active against a wide range of yeast and mold strains at concentrations of 1-4 ppm.

Wasabia Japonica Root Extract is a water-soluble super antioxidant, antibacterial agent, and fungicide. It is used in anti-aging, anti-acne, and after-sun applications in 1-5% concentrations.
