Lactic Acid/Glycolic Acid Copolymer

Lactic Acid/Glycolic Acid Copolymer (PLGA) is a polymer consisting of Lactic and Glycolic acid units (monomers) specially designed to improve ingredient delivery systems, especially microspheres containing actives. Easily degradable in the skin with the presents of water, this AHA-based polymer breaks down, releasing active ingredients from microspheres in deeper layers of the skin, improving penetration levels and the entire effectiveness of the formula.

The monomers of Lactic Acid/Glycolic Acid Copolymer are common skincare ingredients with natural ways of metabolism in skin cells. Thus, it is a perfect (safe and effective) delivery system with additional benefits, as released alpha hydroxy acids help exfoliate dead and pigmented cells from the surface and improve water-binding ability, optimally hydrating the skin.

PLGA is suitable for modern peptide complexes that proved their effectiveness in anti-aging, skin whitening, and other targeted action preparations. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved approach is widely used in high-end skincare products.
