Nylon-12 is a pure powder of polyamide 12 produced by polymerization of 12-laurolactam by using an original catalytic system in the solvent directly. All ingredients used in the process are of non-animal origin. This gives Nylon-12 a fine powdered form with narrow distribution and highly particular properties. Therefore, it is predetermined for most cosmetic purposes.

The higher surface and higher hydrophobic character of Nylon-12 compared with Nylon-6 (polyamide-6) lead to suing it in almost all cosmetic applications, namely in decorative cosmetics. In addition, high surface sorption effects enable improved applications in the skincare area via controlled sorption and desorption of a wide range of cosmetic ingredients and additives, resulting in outstanding particular cosmetic formulations.
