PPG-2-Deceth-30 is a polyoxyethylene (2 moles) polyoxypropylene (20 moles) decyl ether, a white to pale yellow solid wax with a characteristic odor and melting point of 42-44C. It is a multifunctional water-soluble ingredient that acts as an emulsifier, solubilizer, and dispersing agent in industrial and personal care applications. It can also be used as a detergent in cleansing and penetration enhancer in various applications.
Thanks to its excellent emulsifying properties and HLB value of 15, PPG-2-Deceth-30 is used in a wide range of products. As an emulsifier, its properties are close to those of other PPG-PEG decyl and lauryl ethers. It is a chemically passive (low reactive) ingredient.
