Vetiver (Vetiveria Zizanoides) is a tall, tufted, perennial, scented grass, with a straight stem, long narrow leaves, and an abundant complex lacework of underground white rootlets. Vetiveria Zizanoides root essential oil has properties of antiseptic, antispasmodic, depurative, rubefacient, sedative (nervous system), stimulant (circulatory, production of red corpuscles), tonic, and vermifuge.

Historically, the locals to protect domestic animals from vermin have used it, and the fibers of the grass are woven into aromatic matting. Vetiver oil blends well with sandalwood, rose, violet, jasmine, patchouli, oak moss, lavender, clary sage, mimosa, cassie, and ylang-ylang.

Vetiveria Zizanoides root oil is a safe, non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing ingredient for skincare preparations.
