Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde is a synthetic fragrance known under the trade name Lyral. It is frequently used in personal care products for its floral-muguet scent. In particular, it is used in high concentrations of 3% or more in fine fragrances.

Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene is also frequently used in deodorants as well as in household cleaning products. Its intensive floral scent masks other ingredients' undesirable odors.

Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde is a known allergen, statistical scientific studies showed that 2-3% of patients with eczema suffering from contact allergy cause this ingredient. Thus, it is included in common allergen detection skin patch tests.
