PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether is a propoxylated methyl glucose ether, a moderate-viscosity pale, yellow syrup (liquid) with a mild odor. It is an effective emollient, fragrance fixative, and humectant for hair and skin care products.

Miscible with water, alcohols, organic esters, and oils, PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether is derived from corn and used in lotions, creams, and cleansing formulations.

PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether is an easy-to-use liquid that can be readily formulated into a wide range of products where it offers extra emollient properties. In addition, it acts as a de-tackifier and emollient (with a lubricious feel) and reduces alcohol stinging. Incorporated in hair care applications, it enhances gloss and improves combability.

Combined with other humectants such as glycerin, PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether often demonstrates synergistic performance and potentiating effect. Moreover, it improves the sensory properties of these formulations. Recommended use levels range from 0.1% to 5.0%, depending on application and amount of humectant and emollience required.
