C9-15 Alkyl Phosphate is an excellent mild foaming phosphate ester designed to provide a volume of dense, lubricious foam and a smooth skin after-feel. It has been developed for personal care cleansing products such as shampoos, body washes, bar soaps, shaving products, and facial and hand cleansers.
C9-15 Alkyl Phosphate provides a maximum skin feel and foam density as a primary surfactant. Performance-enhancing benefits are still realized at low concentrations while replacing an equal or sometimes greater amount by weight of such materials as ether sulfates, betaines, or alkanolamides in a standard-type formulation.
Thanks to the optimized mono- and di-alkyl ratio, C9-15 Alkyl Phosphate has balanced solubility and foaming with thickening and skin-feel effects. It is usable in anhydrous formulations as well as aqueous systems. It exhibits an excellent salt/viscosity response when combined with sulfates and betaines, with a similar shift in formulation salt curve as with alkanolamides.
C9-15 Alkyl Phosphate is compatible with many quats, enabling mild, non-irritating, clear conditioning formulations. It can be formulated at elevated or room temperatures. It makes stable and dense foam and provides an immediate lubricious skin feel during washing and a smooth after-feel.
