Cyclohexpeptide-90

Cyclohexpeptide-90 is a synthetic cyclic hexapeptide that increases BiP and Calreticulin protein production, chaperones in the endoplasmic reticulum responsible for proteins properly folding. This peptide is known under the trade name Poptide™. The cyclic structure makes it more stable and less exposed to enzymatic degradation in the skin.

BiP and Calreticulin proteins form a complex, which is involved in the protein folding process (tertiary conformation) when a polypeptide chain assembles in a 3D structure. With aging, the quantity of misfolded proteins increases. Those "faulty" conformed proteins break down by enzymes, and the overall efficiency of protein production goes down like an ineffective factory that produces many faulty items, and rejected products are reprocessed again.

Improving proteins' proper assembly, Cyclohexpeptide-90 decreases misfolded and increases normal protein production intrinsic to younger skin cells, acting as an anti-aging agent. It smooths fine lines and wrinkles and diminishes the daily fluctuation of wrinkles' depths, which depends on several factors, including circadian rhythm, gravity, and fluid distribution chances.
