Myristoyl hexapeptide-23 is a synthetic lipo-peptide with antibacterial properties against Propionibacterium acnes (Cutibacterium acnes). It is a water-soluble white powder and is known under the trade name SymPeptide® 380. The sequence is Myristoyl-Ala-Lys-Lys-Leu-Lys-Leu-NH2.
Incorporated in skincare preparation, Myristoyl hexapeptide-23 effectively eliminates acne-inducing bacteria (P. acnes), reducing skin irritation and excessive sebum production, and preventing dermal infections like folliculitis or acne vulgaris.
