Oligopeptide-76

Functions
Antibacterial
Anti-acne

Oligopeptide-76 is a synthetic biomimetic 13 amino acid long peptide, an analog of natural Aurein 1.2 peptide produced in the skin of the Litoria Aurea frog. It is a potent antimicrobial peptide with sequence H-Gly-Leu-Phe-Asp-Ile-Ile-Lys-Lys-Ile-Ala-Glu-Ser-Phe-NH2, a part of frogs' natural defense mechanisms against bacterial infections.

Aureins are a family of short proteins (peptides) found in the skin of Litoria genus frogs inhabitant in Australia. They have different degrees of antimicrobial activity.

Oligopeptide-76 is a membrane-active peptide residing on the lipid bilayer's surface and permeabilizes bacterial membranes at high concentrations. Thanks to its antibacterial properties, this peptide is used in high-end anti-acne applications and for treating other skin infections.

Compared with other anti-acne ingredients such as Benzoyl peroxide, Oligopeptide-76 doesn't irritate the skin and has no adverse effects, acting gently and naturally. It is a safe, effective, and intelligent ingredient for modern applications against skin infections.
