Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-27

Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-27 is a synthetic biomimetic lipo-peptide that boosts the production of filaggrin and loricrin proteins involved in barrier function and many other processes in the skin including natural moisturizing factors (NMF) production, pH balancing, and homeostasis.

Filaggrin connects keratin fibers and forms an envelope for lipids and other proteins supporting epidermal integrity. In addition, products of filaggrin destruction amino acids especially PCA are NMFs that help to maintain the water balance of the skin.

Loricrin acts as an envelope for cornified cells and protects the skin from external influences. Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-27 works well with another peptide Palmitoyl Oligopeptide-78 that boosts keratin production.
