Grape (Vitis vinifera) extract is made from organically grown grapes. It is commonly known that grape products including wine and grape juice contain active levels of polyphenolic compounds. Research has shown that these compounds exhibit the ability to scavenge free radicals in and around the body. It is this knowledge that has been applied to the development of a grape-derived, natural product for skin and hair care applications with antioxidant capabilities.

Vitis Vinifera Fruit Extract contains potent antioxidant resveratrol that delivers scientifically tested and clinically proven health benefits. It also contains Catechin, Epicatechin, Glucose, and Proanthocyanidin. Polyphenols from grape extract inhibit the action of free radicals, natural byproducts of metabolism, that over the years cause skin to lose its smoothness and elasticity.

Rich in proanthocyanidin, a bioflavonoid, and a potent antioxidant, Vitis vinifera extract helps improve and preserve the skin's elasticity by stabilizing collagen and elastin. In addition, Vitis vinifera's high glucose contents provide building blocks for skin structural GAGs (glycosaminoglycans) and especially hyaluronic acid, improving dermal water content and giving volume, density, and suppleness.

Produced from a combination of red and white grapes, Vitis Vinifera Fruit Extract has been standardized against two key antioxidants, a minimum of 15% catechin and epicatechin. Naturally occurring in the grape, polyphenols provide the latest technology to help prevent the damage that free radicals can cause by prematurely aging the skin.

Antioxidant action

Free radicals, induced by environmental factors such as air pollution and UV irradiation, lead to premature skin aging. Antioxidants and free radical scavengers are widely accepted in both skin and hair care applications. There is a multitude of natural sources for such materials.

It is commonly known that grape products, including wine and grape juice, contain active levels of polyphenolic compounds. Research has shown that these compounds can scavenge free radicals in and around the body. This knowledge has been applied to developing a grape-derived, natural product for skin and hair care applications with antioxidant capabilities. Polyphenols inhibit the action of free radicals, natural byproducts of metabolism that cause the skin to lose its smoothness and elasticity over the years. Enthusiasts say that grape polyphenols have a more potent effect than vitamins E and C, inhibiting free radicals.

Grape polyphenols (resveratrol, catechin, epicatechin, etc.) are very active anti-oxidants that can react to more than one type of free radicals. They are naturally occurring in the grape. Grape polyphenols provide the latest technology to help prevent the damage that free radicals can cause by prematurely aging the skin.
