Ceteth-20 is structurally ethoxylated Cetearyl alcohol (C16; 1-Hexadecanol) with 20 ethylene oxide units (PEG-20). It is a high-active primary emulsifier. The optimized ratios of alcohols and alkyl phosphates in Ceteth-20 act synergistically to enhance performance, giving fast release of active ingredients. The DEA-free emulsifier is also naturally substantive to the skin, and so provides a conditioned skin feel after application.

Specifically designed as a complete emulsifying system, Ceteth-20 easily produces low to medium-viscosity emulsions. It is recommended for sunscreens, moisturizing body milk, depilatories, pigmented systems, and cleansers. Ceteth-20 enables personal care manufacturers to capitalize on the current consumer trend for sprayable skin care products.
