Polyquaternium-44 is a branched Vinylpyrrolidone/quaternized Vinylimidazole Copolymer. It is an almost clear and colorless, viscous liquid. It is known under the trade name Luviquat® UltraCare.

Polyquaternium-44 is an effective conditioning polymer for shampoos and cleansing products like shower gels, body washes, and liquid soaps. Its outstanding feature in shampoo conditioning is its excellent combability in wet and dry hair, which is particularly important for long and curly hair.

Due to its high molecular weight, Polyquaternium-44's rich creaminess of the lather is mild to the skin and leaves the hair feeling smooth with no residues. Used in cleansing products and skin care formulations, It improves their overall performance. It also reduces the irritation potential of surfactants and is exceptionally mild to the skin.

Polyquaternium-44 is used in clear shampoos, moisturizing shampoos, shower gels, and liquid soaps. It is also suitable for conditioners and treatments and even styling mousses in combination with other similar polymers. It provides rich, creamy lather, excellent wet and dry hair combability, and is an effective detangler. Moreover, it delivers a smooth, silky feel of dry hair.
