Polyquaternium-46 is a quaternary compound, a copolymer of vinylcaprolactam (Vcap), vinylpyrrolidone (VP), and quaternized vinylimidazole (QVI). Its 20% solution in water is a light yellowish, viscous liquid.
Polyquaternium-46 is used in a variety of hair care formulations. It is used in conditioners, mousses, gels, and other products that provide excellent setting action on the hair.
