Polyquaternium-71 is a synthetic, highly ionized, hygroscopic, water-soluble polymer that effectively binds water molecules and delivers an intensive hydration effect for both skin and hair applications. It is practically odorless and colorless and provides a humidity-protective gradient, limiting water evaporation and retaining moisture.

Acting as a humectant and moisturizer in personal care products, Polyquaternium-71 is a safe, hypoallergic, and non-irritating (including eyes) ingredient that is used in a wide range of rinse-off and leave-on applications, including shampoos, hair conditioners, body washes, cleansers, creams, and lotions.

Polyquaternium-71 moisturizes skin better than glycerin and imparts a pleasant moist feeling without a tacky after-feel, clogged pores, or staining. It has a good sensory profile, is non-greasy, and doesn't affect on skin's normal respiration.

Stable at a wider range of temperatures and pH, Polyquaternium-71 is compatible with almost all types of ingredients used in personal care products, including anionic, cationic, and nonionic compounds. It is especially effective in moisturizing products used in winter or in dry climates.
