Ascorbyl Stearate is a stable oil-soluble Vitamin C derivative, a monoester of l-Ascorbic and stearic acids. It is mainly used in the food industry and is an edible antioxidant. Blended in oil-based skin care applications, it leaves vitamin C-like effects, including antioxidants, firming, and skin whitening.

Similar to other oil-soluble esters of Vitamin C, Ascorbyl Stearate promotes collagen synthesis, exhibiting a noticeable firming effect on the skin. It also inhibits melanin synthesis, acting as a skin-whitening agent.

In addition, Ascorbyl stearate has free radical scavenging ability. It is an antioxidant that protects skin cells from oxidative stress and the damaging effects of UV and sun exposure. It is a safe, stable, and effective ingredient for anti-aging, skin-whitening, and daily care products.
