Ameliox™

Ameliox™ is a botanical complex with a wrinkle-smoothing effect. Wrinkles are the result of the weakening of the skin's connective tissue. Weakening, in its turn, is the result of structural changes in extracellular matrix proteins, especially collagen fibers. Free glucose molecules can attach to collagen and make changes in its structure; this process called glycation is one of the most significant skin aging factors.

A duo of actives in the Ameliox complex, carnosine, and Milk thistle (Silybum Marianum) fruit extract act synergically, effectively inhibiting glycation. Carnosine is a naturally-occurring dipeptide in the human body that rapidly binds to free glucose, preventing its attachment to collagen fibers. Silymarin is a potent polyphenolic antioxidant extracted from milk thistle fruits. Oxidative stress is one of the promoting factors of glycation, so antioxidant silymarin effectively inhibits (prevents) that destructive process, preserving skin's firmness, suppleness, and elasticity. Ameliox™ is a perfect blend of two skincare actives developed to prevent the stiffening of collagen and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

What are the benefits of Ameliox™?

Ameliox contains Carnosine and Silymarin from the Milk thistle fruit.

  • Carnosine, a naturally-occurring dipeptide in the human body, has antiaging properties by inhibiting the glycation reaction in the skin.
  • Silymarin is a powerful antioxidant, and another powerful glycation inhibitor.

A clinical study showed a significant decrease in wrinkle depth. An emulsion with 2% Ameliox™ was tested in a clinical study with 20 women. The test product was applied twice daily for four weeks on the inner side of the forearm and the forehead, and the area with crow's feet.

Ameliox significantly improved the forearm skin's hydration, firmness, and smoothness (data not shown) and reduced wrinkle depth on the forehead and around the eyes (crow's feet).
