Methyl Gluceth-10 is an ethoxylated methyl glucose ether derived from natural raw material (corn). It is a pale yellow syrup (liquid) with a moderate viscosity and a mild odor.

Incorporated in personal care applications, Methyl Gluceth-10 is an adequate humectant used in rinse-off and leave-on products such as creams, lotions, and body cleansers. It reduces the product's tacky feel and moisturizes, providing a smooth and silky feel.

Methyl Gluceth-10 improves the foam properties of cleansing products, enhances glossiness, and improves the sensory profile. It can be used with other humectants, such as glycerin, and often demonstrates synergistic performance.

In addition, Methyl Gluteth-10 effectively depresses the freezing point, reduces the irritancy of other ingredients, and improves foam properties. Its use level varies from 0.1% to 5.0%, depending on the application type and the amount of humectant effect required. It is used in dry skin beauty lotions, shampoos, shaving creams, shower gels, and facial cleansers.
