Imidazolidinyl Urea is a cosmetic preservative that is very active against Gram-negative, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and positive bacteria. It has no activity against fungi and is synergistic with parabens.

Imidazolidinyl Urea is a white granular powder almost odorless and completely soluble in water. It is insoluble in oils and has limited solubility in propylene glycol and glycerin. It breaks down in extended exposure to a pH greater than 9.

Imidazolidinyl Urea is compatible with essentially all cosmetic ingredients, including surfactants, proteins, and other special ingredients, except dibenzoil methane derivatives used as UV-A filters.
