Lentil is a widely known annual plant whose seeds have been used as food for centuries. Rich in unsaturated essential fatty acids, vitamins, trisaccharides, and phytic acid, Lentil (Lens Esculenta or Culinaris) extract is a natural, efficient, and safe ingredient in skincare formulations.

Like zea mays starch and rice bran, Lentils contain phytic acid, a great exfoliator with antioxidant properties. In addition, Lens Esculenta seeds contain Tocopherols (vitamin E), Carotenoids (vitamin A), and B5, which protect skin cell membranes from free radicals and oxidative stress and stimulate proliferation and renewal.

In addition, Lens Esculenta Fruit Extract contains trisaccharides, which are short-chain sugars that promote hydration and enhance the skin's moisture-binding capability. Its unsaturated fatty acids also have antioxidant and moisturizing properties.
