Calcium Citrate is a calcium salt of citric acid, a fine white powder without an odor. It is very slightly soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol.

As a highly bioavailable source of calcium, it is a safe ingredient used to enrich foods and medicines with calcium. It meets the standards of the Food Chemical Codex IV, the United States Pharmacopoeia XXIII, and the European Pharmacopoeia.

In personal care applications, Calcium Citrate is used as an acidity regulator, stabilizing agent, and source of calcium in oral care products. Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, it can also be used as a preservative booster.
