Optiphen MIT Ultra

Certain personal care products, such as water-based sunscreens, hair gels, and wet wipes, are challenging to protect. Alkaline environments or the high temperatures necessary to process these formulations destroy and ultimately deactivate many traditional preservatives.

Based on 3.3% Methylisothiazolinone in combination with Phenylpropanol, a nature-identical booster, Optiphen MIT Ultra effectively protects against bacteria, yeast, and mold over a broad pH range, even at low use levels. Stable at elevated temperatures, it offers an option for products that fall outside the limits of conventional preservatives while satisfying global regulations and consumer demand for newer preservatives.

To that end, Optiphen MIT Ultra offers a paraben-free, formaldehyde-free, and non-halogen formulation. With a low concentration of MIT and the boosting power of Phenylpropanol, Optiphen MIT Ultra satisfies the demand for preservatives with greater consumer acceptance.

With the Phenylpropanol booster component, Optiphen MIT Ultra is a broad-spectrum preservative solution for personal care applications. It provides excellent preservation in both leave-on and rinse-off personal care products, including the following: body and face care, hand and body creams/lotions, moisturizers, shower gels, facial cleansers, wipes, and deodorants.

Optiphen MIT is used in hair care products such as shampoos, conditioners (rinse-off and leave-on), styling products, and treatment products. It is also used in decorative cosmetics and sun care products, such as foundations, concealers, and sunscreen creams/lotions.
