Matrixyl™ 3000 is an effective alternative to Vitamin C and Retinol for erasing wrinkles
Matrixyl 3000 is an active peptide-based ingredient clinically proven to lift & firm the skin and significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is a combination of two matrikines (derived from small endogenous peptides conjugated with palmitic acid for better delivery) that act as cell messengers to stimulate the process of skin repair.
Matrixyl 3000 was developed by the Sederma corporation, and it combines two lipo-peptides that help to improve the health of the skin cells while increasing the skin's extracellular matrix (the skin's structural framework) protein production. By regulating cell activity, elevating collagen synthesis, promoting elastin production, and delaying cell deterioration, this peptide duo repairs wrinkled skin, increases skin elasticity, and balances skin tone.
Peptides are small protein fragments representing short chains of amino acids that can help promote the health or structure of a cell. The two peptides in Matrixyl include Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 (also known as Palmitoyl oligopeptide or Pal-GHK) and Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7.
Matrixyl™ 3000 steadily diminishes the appearance of wrinkles by helping to restore the dermal matrix. In-vitro and ex-vivo studies show that this peptide-based complex increases the synthesis of the dermal matrix components that are essential to preserving the skin's youth. Comparing tests with older Matrixyl™ (Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4) showed significant enhancement of effectiveness, improved elasticity, and skin tone.

Is there proof of the Matrixyl™ 3000 effectiveness?
Laboratory tests and clinical trials showed that Matrixyl™ 3000 stimulates dermal fibroblasts and increased extracellular matrix (ECM) component production.
These increases are substantial: as much as 287% for Glycosaminoglycans, 117% for Collagen I, and 327% for Collagen IV. The results of a two-phase six-month clinical study show a marked improvement in the visual appearance of wrinkles with this peptide complex in comparison to a commercial product containing Vitamin C and a placebo cream.
The mean surface area occupied by deep wrinkles has been reduced by 68% and the mean wrinkle density by 46%. In a separate 4-month clinical study, Matrixyl™ 3000 was compared to retinol and provided similar results without any negative side effects.
What can Matrixyl be used for?
Matrixyl 3000 can be used to improve the cellular health and strength of a skin cell because of its ability to enhance collagen and elastin levels. This is essential for:
- Face and Skin Care – because of its accelerated effects and improvements on collagen and elastin levels.
- Hair Regrowth – because of its benefits to collagen and skin/scalp health. Many patients are experiencing excellent benefits by alternating between PRP and Matrixyl Serum Treatments.
