Protective

The skin, the biggest organ of the body, protects the body from external and environmental influences. Protective repair mechanisms form a primary defense line against prolonged exposure to UV rays, extreme cold and heat, loss of moisture, etc.

The human body is exposed to UV light every day. Even under a cloudy sky, UV-A and UV-B rays contribute to the aging process of skin. UV rays indicate a number of different damaging processes of skin layers.

Protective ingredients protect skin from environmental damage and harsh conditions, helping reduce transdermal moisture loss, prevent UV-induced damage, and prevent premature aging.

The skin is prepared to induce natural repair mechanisms; however, when exposure to sunlight is exaggerated, additional support of effective protective actives helps to keep the skin healthy and the natural repair mechanisms intact.

Much energy is needed to keep the skin's natural repair processes active. A decrease in the energy level weakens the natural repair mechanisms. Some protective ingredients aim to keep the energy level high.

Cholesteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate is an emollient derived from L-glutamic acid, lauric acid, and three alcohols (cholesterol, 2-octyldodecanol, and behenol).

It is an excellent emollient, which gives long-lasting protection. In addition, theobroma cacao is high in vitamin E and softens and lubricates.
Colostrum is the first "milk," or sometimes called pre-milk, a fluid produced after birth by every mammal (mother) in mammary glands during the first several days after birth. It provides a perfect combination of immune and growth factors, including immunoglobulins, lactoferrin and Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1), amino acids, and other vital nutrients.

Crepidiastrum Denticulatum Leaf/Stem Extract is a natural extract from a native plant (Yakushisou) that protects the skin against environmental damage and delays aging.

Di-PPG-3 Ceteth-4 Adipate is a synthetic gentle "detackifying" emollient designed for mildness in leave-on products, especially for sensitive skin or where abrasion is involved in the skin treatment process (i.e., facial scrubs, microdermabrasion).

Dihydroxyphenyl Benzimidazole Carboxylic Acid is a functional ingredient with anti-pollution, anti-oxidant, anti-aging, and sun filter booster activity. It can compensate for damaging factors involved in environmental pollution.

Dihydroxypropyl Arginine HCL is a conjugate of Glycerin and Arginine that combines both ancestors' moisturizing (NMF) and high adsorption power.

Dimethicone is usually used in oil-free facial moisturizers. It decreases transdermal water loss without a greasy feel. PDMS has occlusive and emollient properties and suitable for acne and sensitive skin as it is non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.
Ectoin supports the moisture-binding capacity of the skin, has a moisturizing and anti-inflammatory effect and stabilises the cell structures by protecting cell membranes.

Mannentake mushroom (Ganoderma Lucidum) is one of the most valued plants in the Chinese pharmacopeia. It has been used for thousands of years as a remedy for a variety of diseases from traumatic wounds to inflammation.

In Asia, Panax (means ‘treating all’ in Greek) is considered to be the most valuable plant among all, and its root called Ginseng became famous worldwide.
Glucomannan is a polymer of polysaccharides that form a film on the skin, reducing transdermal water loss. It also enhances product stability and shelf life.
Vegetable Glycerine is plant-derived from vegetables and coconut and offers water binding and moisture-retaining properties that can balance skin’s natural moisturizing factor.
Glyceryl oleate (also known as glyceryl monooleate) is an ester of glycerin and oleic acid, in skincare formulas, acts as a skin lipid layer enhancer. It restores lost lipids to the skin and keeps hair from drying out.

Glycine Max Callus Culture is an ingredient based on soy stem cells obtained by forcing differentiated soy tissues to return to the undifferentiated form. It is in liquid form derived from solid raw material by a special fermentation process.

A supremely potent antioxidant, Green Tea Extract works to significantly slow the signs of aging caused by free radical damage.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a spice used in oriental cuisine and medicine (traditional Chinese and Ayurveda) and as an ingredient in beauty preparations. It contains Turmerin protein with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Hexapeptide-33 is a biologically active peptide that stimulates blood vessel formation, known under the trade name W3 peptide. It was developed by Novacell Technology (NCP901) using peptide library technology.

Hydrolyzed Chestnut Extract is an active ingredient developed for hair care obtained from organically grown Castanea sativa fruits (chestnut).

Hydrolyzed Eruca Sativa Leaf contains deglycosylated isothiocyanates which stimulate glutathione production by dermal cells. Glutathione is a biologically active tripeptide that is involved in defensive, recovery, and tissue-building processes in the body and the skin.

Grape's (Vitis Vinifera) skin protects the fruit from UV radiation and other environmental damaging factors. Modern hydrolyzation technologies allow to liquefy the grape skin and reproduce its complex defensive chemistry.

Keratin is made up of fibrous proteins rich in sulfur-containing amino acids, an essential component present in skin, hair, and nails. Hydrolyzed keratin is a mix of peptides and amino acids obtained from the controlled bio- or chemical hydrolysis of proteins from natural origin.

The skin is exposed to a large number of damaging factors. It can cause problems with skin barrier permeability, making it more fragile and susceptible to inflammatory processes.

Hydrolyzed Linseed Seed is a hydrolyzed protein derived from Flax (Linseed - Linum Usitatissimum). It imparts benefits to skin and hair care products and is particularly suited to products based on natural concepts.

Hydrolyzed Olive Fruit is a completely aqueous liquid obtained by bio-liquefaction of fresh olives, selected among the richest in bio-phenols and derived from organic certified agriculture.

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein is a general name for enzymatically or chemically hydrolyzed grain proteins extracted from various sources, including oats, wheat, maize, and soybean. It is compatible with almost all compounds used in personal care products.

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol is a copolymer of vegetable protein and silicone. It is a powerful hair-strengthening ingredient that dramatically improves the strength of damaged hair.

Differences in shape, color, scent, etc. of flowers are not meant to please our senses but are tools to attract and select pollinating insects, and in a field full of spring blossoms the competition is sky-high.

The biotechnological processes used to produce hydrolyzed wheat bran make it possible to recover 100% of wheat bran protective chemistry in a bio-available form.

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Corn Starch is a quaternized version of maize starch with a high molecular weight that allows it to form films around the hair to provide a smooth, manageable style.
