Organic compounds

Organic compounds are an inherent part of skin care products. These ingredients are structurally similar to natural body compounds, making them efficient in many functions. For example, they easily penetrate the layers of skin, stimulate the synthesis of skin proteins, fight free radicals, and ''dissolve" dead skin cells. Thus, organic compounds visibly ameliorate skin wrinkling, sagging, and scaling.

Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate

Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate is a derivative of plant-derived palm fatty acids and sarcosine with isopropyl alcohol. In personal care applications it serves as a potent solubilizer, polar emollient, viscosity modifier, and sensory enhancer.

Isopropyl Myristate
Isopropyl Myristate is an ester of plant-derived myristic acid with isopropyl alcohol, a colorless liquid used as an active emollient in skin and hair care formulations.
Isopropyl Palmitate

Isopropyl Palmitate is an ester of Isopropyl alcohol and palmitic acid, a lightweight emollient that helps to moisturize skin. It is a safe, non-toxic, and non-sensitizing ingredient although is derived from palm kernel or coconut oils.

Isopropyl Stearate

Isopropyl stearate is an ester of Isopropyl alcohol and stearic acid, a dry emollient that improves the spreadability of emulsions.

Isopropyl stearate is also a good solubilizer for active ingredients. It is a colorless low viscosity liquid.

Isostearyl Neopentanoate

Isostearyl Neopentanoate is a high-purity synthetic ester that offers a velvety, evanescent touch and excellent spreading properties. Mainly useful in color cosmetics; add shine to lipstick or glow to a foundation.

Kojic Dipalmitate

Kojic dipalmitate is a Kojic acid derivative widely used in skin brightening applications thanks to its high effectiveness and outstanding stability in formulations. Similarly to Kojic acid, it inhibits tyrosinase enzymatic activity blocking melanin pigment production.

Laureth-6 Carboxylic Acid

Laureth-6 Carboxylic Acid is an alcohol ether carboxylate, a multi-functional surfactant with the common attributes of mildness and hypochlorite stability. Its performance can be tailored as a function of pH.

Lauryl Betaine
Lauryl Betaine is an amphoteric surfactant that is hydrolytically stable, biodegradable, and colorless, with low odor.
Lauryl Isoquinolinium Bromide

Unwanted hair growth is a condition that affects millions of people (the medical term: hirsutism. It can occur in both men and women without discrimination and is caused by follicles that are overly sensitive to male hormones (called androgens).

Phosphatidylcholine
Lecithin is a mix of phospholipids, a miracle serum that leaves your hair smooth and healthy. This structure-forming component helps repair dry hair. It infuses your hair with moisture and restores its natural barrier.
Levulinic Acid
Levulinic acid is a penetration enhancer, emulsion stabilizer, and natural preservative derived from rice, corn starch, or sugarcane bagasse. It increases the lipid fluidity of the dermal barrier, helping other ingredients pass through and improving the entire effectiveness of the formula.
Linoleic acid

Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid (EFA). EFAs are fundamental constituents of bio-membranes and precursors of biological substances such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and hydroxylated fatty acids.

Dimethylmethoxy chromanol
Lipochroman®, also known as lipochroman-6 or Dimethylmethoxy chromanol, is an extraordinary molecule that fights against all radicals, protecting from a broad spectrum of reactive species and premature skin aging.
Improving the oxygen supply Liquid Surgery Complex (Perfluorocarbons) can counteract skin aging and result in an astounding smoothing of the skin.
Magnesium Stearate

Also known as magnesium salt, this substance is found in many medicines taken today in pill form. It is regarded as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.

Menthol
Menthol is a compound obtained from peppermint oil or other mint oils or made synthetically. Menthol has local anesthetic and counterirritant qualities.
Menthyl Lactate
Menthyl Lactate is an ester of natural menthol and lactic acid, a highly effective and widely colorless liquid mainly used as a cooling agent.
Methoxycinnamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine

Lying on the beach in swimwear on a sunny afternoon is always an enjoyable experience for many. But little do they know about the harmful effects of solar UV radiation on their skin and hair.

Methoxycinnamidopropyl Laurdimonium Tosylate

The photodegradative effect of UV exposure on human hair is well documented. Continuous exposure to sun rays lightens hair color and makes human hair rough, brittle, and difficult to comb. UV rays damage the proteins of cuticles.

Methyl Ricinoleate

Methyl Ricinoleate is an ester derived from castor oil and methanol used in personal care applications as a surfactant or lubricant. It is derived from natural raw materials and is completely biodegradable.

1,2-dibromo-2,4- dicyanobutane

Methyldibromo Glutaronitrile is a preservative, a highly effective antimicrobial agent used to preserve formulated cosmetic and personal care products. Thanks to a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, it provides protection against degradation by bacteria, yeasts, and molds.

Methylparaben

Methylparaben is a methyl ester of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, a widely used broad-spectrum preservative used in personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and some foods. It is colorless and odorless, compatible with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients.

2-methyl-1,3-propanediol chemical structure
MethylPropanediol (2-methyl-1,3-propanediol) is a humectant glycol with a very low odor used in personal care products and fragrances.

Mineral oil is a mixture of refined hydrocarbons derived from petroleum (crude oil) that is used industrially as a cutting fluid and lubricating oil. It is known as liquid paraffin (Paraffinum liquidum or Paraffin oil).

dimethyl sulfone
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) improves the permeability of the cell membranes, effectively increasing the metabolism: the cells absorb nutrients more efficiently, while excess metabolic products and waste products are flushed out better.
Myristyl Myristate
The white, wax-like substance is used as an easily spreadable oil component in oil-in-water emulsions, especially in lotions, to improve the water-in-oil emulsions' consistency.
O.D.A. White™ Sederma
